Sam’s Club Associates Spark Good to Change Kids’ Health

Sam’s Club associates spark good by helping change kids’ health at local children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) June 12 – July 14. Customers can donate in-store at Walmart and Sam’s Club, on Walmart.com, and in the Walmart app. Each dollar raised locally can provide treatments and support patients desperately need today so that they can fulfill their potential for tomorrow.

When Jake, a Sam’s Club associate from Fort Smith, AR, was 19, he could not keep up with his friends with physical activities. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, stage two. He started chemo for 12 treatments, followed by radiation for three months. And is still dealing with side effects.

Being in a CMN Hospitals affiliated hospital, he has understood the direct impact of funds raised at Walmart & Sam’s Club. When he was hired at Sam’s Club, his passion showed through his fundraising efforts and the team around him. The day he started, his story and passion helped drive him and his coworkers to raise funds for the local hospital. Their club went from $5,000 raised the year before to $41,000.

“Do not wait for it to impact you or your family directly. We should all care about kids. They can’t wait. Step on the gas to do more.”

– Jake, Sam’s Club associate

Jake encourages everyone to ask every member every time at the register. This is even more important today since he also had an experience where his little girl, born prematurely, had breathing, blood glucose, and other issues.

Together, we can change kids’ health. Together, we can change the future.
