#ChampionsForKids spotted at: Marriott headquarters and a Nationals game. It’s day three
Marriott International has been a partner of CMN Hospitals since the beginning, raising more than $110 million for sick and injured kids. Today, New York Champion Teddy sat down with Marriott International president and CEO Arne Sorensen at the Marriott headquarters in Bethesda, MD. They talked about charitable giving, the property with the best pool and how Arne inspires the culture of giving amongst Marriott employees.
We also saw Deborah Marriott Harrison, who had heart surgery as a young child:
Teddy went live on our Facebook page from the Renaissance hotel room model with Jennifer from Marriott and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals president and CEO John Lauck. You can watch it on our Facebook page here.
Meanwhile, back in the District, bravery was the theme at a meeting with Champion families, Miss America and U.S. Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy, M.D. The Surgeon General urged Champions to stay strong through their ambassadorship, reminded them of the importance of kindness and even donated $100 to show support.
It's summer in D.C. and what better way to celebrate than at a baseball game? Our Champions were recognized on the filed at Nationals Park for the Washington Nationals vs. Mets game.
See what the Champions were up to on Day one and Day two. Meet the Champion from your state and watch for and use #ChampionsForKids on social.
The U.S. 2016-17 Champions Ambassador Tour is presented by Delta Air Lines, Marriott International, Chico's FAS, Inc. and Ace Hardware.
